Personal Description:

Hello!

I am a native English and Spanish speaker with almost 20 years of experience teaching languages in both North and South America. I am certified to teach English internationally (TEFL-TESOL).
I would say I am an effective and friendly communicator and I love to teach!

I am also quite passionate and skilled in the arts- mostly In painting, and illustration, as well as in design.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching English, along with some Spanish as well, for 20 years.

I have taught English and Spanish from basic to advanced levels at a University, corporate and government offices, institutes, and private residences. Recently, Online and phone classes have been an efficient medium for training as well.

My duties included preparing effective course materials and lesson planning for groups and individuals from all learning levels. I have tutored and provided guidance to students for the TOEFL exam as well as instructed corporate executives in using English effectively for business purposes. I have provided Spanish classes at all learning levels for tourists and foreign students which included planning and coordinating classes for groups and individuals.
I have also taught children for many years which I really find really fun!

Throughout the last few years, I have been instructing and coaching federal government candidates in the SLE (Second Language Evaluation) for Oral, Written, and Reading Comprehension using the CEWP training program.

As far as my experience in teaching in the arts field goes, I have coordinated, organized, and taught various drawing techniques to both University and High School students aiding them in developing basic artistic skills as well as instructed painting techniques specializing in portraits through Oil and Acrylic mediums. One of the most rewarding aspects of this job was assisting teenagers in expressing themselves artistically.

Tutoring Approach:

First of all, I would say that my approach depends on the student and his or her needs. Those must be identified early in the course in order to work towards realistic objectives.
I am an enthusiastic teacher who values a friendly and encouraging environment and relationship so as to ease into energetic classes. Not only am I quite able to communicate very openly and in a trustworthy manner, but I also remain tactful and professional with my students.
