Personal Description:

I have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a first class honors division. My overall GPA was 3.94/4.20 and was the second best GPA of the batch.Presently I'm a Master's student at McMaster University. I also have topped my secondary education with marks above 80% for all the subjects in all the grades.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored to school kids in Sri Lanka since I was in high school. I have tutored Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry to a student who failed the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in first attempt and helped him pass the examination in the second attempt. I have often tutored Mathematics to school kids from 8 years of age upto 18 years of age for more than 5 years. I have tutored Physics to about 5 students individually and made all of them pass their exams with flying colors.
I moved to Canada in 2019 and have been tutoring Math and Physics for students from Grade 5 to Grade 12. I'm experienced in tutoring Functions and Data Management for high school students.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring depends on the age of the student. However, during the first session I assess the existing knowledge level of the student through questions on the basics of the subject. Based on the existing knowledge on the basics I start teaching the theories followed with questions on applications. While teaching thoroughly on the theoretical aspects of the subject, I also take plenty of time in my sessions to practice different types of questions with the students. I praise the students for good work and when they fail at questions I discuss with them the reason to fail the question and encourage them to build the correct answer by them selves.
With little kids, I try to befriend them from the first session onward and practice questions with simplistic approaches.
