Personal Description:

When I was in elementary school, I was identified as a gifted child. I taught myself how to read at a 5th grade level at the age of three, and could handle any kind of elementary level mathematics. Over time, I grew to understand how different people tend to learn differently and how to rephrase a lesson in a way someone can understand. As someone on the Autism Spectrum, I know how hard it can be to learn in a classroom environment where you aren't the sole focus of the teacher.
I've always loved computers and technology. I graduated from La Cité Collégiale as a computer programmer in 2017, and I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember. I also have a lot of interest in anthropology and linguistics.

Tutoring Experience:

I'm relatively new to tutoring, but I have tutored some kids before. My first student was a boy on the Autism Spectrum whose grades started to improve as soon as the first test after I started tutoring him.

Of course, I have also spent years helping my 2 younger siblings with their homework whenever needed.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to begin by identifying what aspect of the lesson or material my student is struggling with, as well as possible avenues for rephrasing or practicing material. Over time, I learn what works and what doesn't as much, and I can narrow my focus down a little over time.

Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, I insist on online tutoring exclusively. While the medium of online communication is not ideal for tutoring, I have a lot of experience with online communication, so I hope to minimize the impact of using such a medium.
