Personal Description:

My name is Erum Shehzad . I have a post graduate degree in Business Administration. Overall I possess 5+ years of work experience in the field of Human Resources. As part of my profession, I have been actively involved in content development of training materials and presenting and delivering training sessions in a classroom setting as well.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had various opportunities for interacting with elementary level students and teaching them. At a very early age, i had taken up teaching as a voluntary initiative to keep myself engaged and contribute my additional time towards the community. I have been conducting class sessions on ethics, social sciences, story telling sessions. During my voluntary engagement, I was required to prepare curriculum outlines, assist in preparing weekly milestones, develop and perform practical activities to inculcate a 'learning with fun' environment. I was also responsible for conducting on-going assessments of student performance on a quarterly basis,and further communicate and discuss the same with respective parents for any improvement areas. I have had a tutoring experience on a one-to- one basis to grade 4 students. I used to teach them all the subjects, which included helping them in their daily homework, preparing them for their monthly, quarterly and annual exams as well.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is creating a comfortable learning environment for students to freely ask questions. secondly, to provide them opportunities for additional learning through reading materials, or relevant audio visual materials… and by inviting subject specialists as guest speakers to discuss specific topics. Third, giving continuous feedback to them and their parents on their progress and shortcomings so that nothing comes as a surprise and areas of improvement are dealt in a timely manner. Lastly, encouraging the students to build analytical thinking process to perform their tasks.
