Personal Description:

Hello,

My name is Emily, and I am a certified primary/junior teacher. I recently graduated from teachers college and I am currently working as a supply teacher in the region. I have a strong knowledge in mathematics and I have taken additional qualifications to strengthen my mathematical teaching practices. I am passionate about working with children, youth and adults, helping them to achieve their personal goals whatever they may be!

Tutoring Experience:

I have had 5 years of classroom experience as a volunteer or as a trainee teacher. I have worked in a variety of classrooms with a variety of individuals from ages 4 to 16.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a hands on approach allowing the students to engage in real life problems to apply their previous knowledge. I engage in open ended questions allowing the students to work through their thinking process. I assess where the students are at and provide support that is appropriate to their individual needs. I want all my students to be successful and feel confident when they are completing their work.
