Personal Description:

Hello! I am a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, majoring in Psychology and Peace, Conflict and Justice. I graduated with high distinction in an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. Over my time, I received a CGPA of 3.95 (4.0 in the most recent two years). I have also received $80,000+ in scholarships and awards for my academic and community-based achievements, of which include leading a grant-funded research project, guest lecturing for several university classes, presenting to over 700 leaders, and founding an NPO to improve employment and community outcomes for neurodivergent individuals.

In high school, I completed the Gifted Program and completed many pre-AP and AP courses, including: physics, biology, chemistry, math, and English.

Tutoring Experience:

- Created workshops for 15+ organizations, educating 700+ leaders
- Guest lectured at the University of Toronto and McMaster University on autism and neurodiversity in the current context
- Served as guest speaker for Laidlaw Foundation; DefineYouth Conference; League of Innovators; Venture for Canada
- Developed curriculum and facilitated leadership program for youth with disabilities
- Trained 40+ staff on supporting autistic youth
- Privately tutored four students every week for two years
- Lead weekly art activities for neurodivergent youth
- Administered lesson on mental health to various ESL adult classes across the GTA
- Experience modifying activities to support neurodivergent students in thriving in programs/the classroom

Tutoring Approach:

After working with such a dynamic range of individuals, I recognize that there is no one correct approach to tutoring. My tutoring style will change to meet the distinct needs of individuals, and my lesson plans (if applicable) will serve to reflect that. For example, if someone has trouble sitting still and keeping focus, I incorporate a hands-on/kinetic activity, such as role-playing or turning the content into a game. Some examples of this include connecting content to real-world scenarios and events relevant to the individual, using testing as a strategy, and having students teach concepts back to me.
