Personal Description:

I am a lyric mezzo soprano originally from Calgary Alberta, Canada. As a sought after performer throughout the United States and Canada, I performed steadily in the areas of opera, oratorio, chamber music and numerous solo and collaborative recitals throughout my career.

Equally at home in opera venues and recitals, I have often been a featured soloist with many distinguished organizations such as, The Oratorio Society of Minnesota, Bach Society of Minnesota, Exultate Chamber Choir and Orchestra, Minnetonka Choral Society, Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and Kensington Sinfonia in Calgary, Le Choeur Québecois, Société philharmonique de Montréal, L’Ensemble Con Brio de Montréal and Le Choeur de Chambre du Québec.

I made my recording debut in March of 2002. Since then, I have recorded three more compact disks featuring her as alto soloist in such works as Bach’s B minor Mass, Bach’s Magnificat and Mozart’s Requiem, which are readily **E-mail Address Removed** or **E-mail Address Removed**.

Tutoring Experience:

I established myself in Ottawa eight years ago, and have spent much of my time working with singers and pianists of all ages, in far reaching communities like Russell and Kanata, as well with several clients closer to my home in Orleans.

I am is a distinguished and well-respected voice teacher as well as an avid member of several professional affiliations. I have taught in numerous university and college settings for the past 29 years, all the while maintaining a private voice studio.

I continue to work with, adjudicate, mentor, and coach many aspiring singers and pianists, of which several have won countless 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards in both NATS and the Kiwanis Music Festival over the years. In the spring of 2019, two of my students proudly won the 2019 Goya Canadian Musical Theatre Award and the Miriam Anderson Trophy respectively at the Kiwanis Music Festival in Ottawa.

Over the years, many of my fine singers have also been accepted into several prestigious music and voice programs throughout Canada and the United States. Such schools include, The University of Toronto, Dalhousie University, McGill and then AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) and the Manhattan School of Music in New York. My piano students have repeatedly achieved several first class-honours with distinction and honours awards for their examinations with the Royal Conservatory of Music.

Tutoring Approach:

I have tutored in person, both for music theory and ear-training. This is aside of the normal one-on-one piano and voice lessons I carry out each day, with more than 40 students a week. Of course all lessons prior to Covid were conducted in person rather than on line, but I have made a very steady and smooth transition to continue working with individuals of all ages in a virtual manner, which has not at all deterred learning or posed many difficulties. I have plenty of resources at hand, that can easily be shared through email, voice memos, MP3s and the like, for all students and levels, with additional materials needed for study, whether it is for paper or in a practical manner.
