Personal Description:

My tutoring interests focus on English and literature, and in my sessions I draw extensively on my work teaching English and writing in the college classroom. I work with students of all ages and levels of experience, from students who need help with the basics of English grammar and syntax, to high school and college English students, to students studying comparative literature, to students who are getting their initial taste of college essay writing in a first year writing program.

Tutoring Experience:

As an undergraduate I majored in marketing. I went on the receive a master's degree in English. I have an extensive teaching background, and currently I'm working as an Adjunct English Professor at two institutions.

Tutoring Approach:

I think when it comes to writing, process and self-analysis are key concepts. Too often writing is presented as a prescriptive endeavor; students learn the steps and move on. But when students consider how and why they make the choices the do they become better writers and thinkers.
