Personal Description:

I am an aspiring teacher and currently providing services as a chemistry tutor. Awaiting placement as a student teacher, I have a passion for helping others learn. In teaching students, I believe they need to be challenged and supported in finding a way to take steps to solve any problem.

Tutoring Experience:

I'm currently an undergraduate studying Physical Science Teaching. I can teach chemistry from middle school up to the college level, including physical chemistry. It is rewarding to help students in groups and with one-on-one tutoring where I can focus on individual concepts and work at their pace.

Tutoring Approach:

I build on student's strengths and weaknesses, as well as their interests outside the subject. Learning processes helps students become independent learners, rather than memorizing. For motivation, I track progress and help a student see it, while helping them set measurable goals. This is key in helping build confidence. I also keep them engaged by asking follow-up questions that are similar to ones they've answered.
