Personal Description:

My name is Daniel and I was born in Vancouver, but I grew up in a small town called Hope in British Columbia. I attended Simon Fraser University and completed degrees in English and Education. I have been accepted to a Masters of Education program in Indigenous Education. I love all sports. I play hockey but my favourite sport is probably baseball. I also love food. I love cooking and eating, and I even love looking at food! However, the loves of my life are my wife and my 7 month old son. My perfect day is waking up to a hot cup of coffee, playing with my boy, and having a great family dinner before settling down to a classic movie.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been a tutor for over 12 years and have worked as a certified teacher for 5 years. I am an expert at teaching test preparation and reading and writing. I am currently working as a dynamic middle school teacher at a top ranked private school in West Vancouver. With my degrees in English and Education and a minor in Biological Sciences, I can teach a wide range of subjects. I am a lifelong learner, and I know teaching is my vocation. Students love coming to my classes, and I create a lot of excitement among families!

Tutoring Approach:

I live by a growth-mindset. Anything that happens in my life, I treat as an opportunity for growth. I am passionate and believe in doing things the right way. Honesty and hard work are the keys to success. It is through these core values that I create a learning environment where my students feel safe and trusted. Once this foundation has been created, learning becomes exciting and challenges seem surmountable. My lessons are dynamic and students are fully-engaged. I believe learning should be fun, and in my classes, this is always the case!
