Information About Danial
Richmond Hill tutorPersonal Description:
My name is Danial I am a high school student at Langstaff Secondary School. I enjoy a variety of subjects including Math, English, Physics, and Phys. Ed… I'm currently working towards getting accepted to Waterloo's Biomedical Engineering program.
Tutoring Experience:
I often tutor my peers in my classes in subjects that we have just learned in class to reinforce both their and my understanding of the topic. I'm looking to get a stronger background in tutoring with elementary school students, starting here at first tutors.
Tutoring Approach:
I first try to understand how the student learns best. Whether it be through auditory, visual, or kinematic learning, I learn how I can be most effective at teaching each individual student. When approaching a certain topic, I will give an explanation of the general idea of how we would tackle a problem that would be given in this subject, and make sure the student first understands how we would get from the problem of that question to the solution. Then I would run through a sample problem or two and do the bulk of the work myself, giving the student an exemplar of how to complete the question. Next I would have the student complete one or two problems, with me instructing on the way. Lastly I would have the student complete an entire question by themselves, giving little to no feedback until the question is finished. This helps me gauge the students understanding of the question, and not just leave them without them actually being able to solve the problems themselves. This method works best with whoever I tutor, I see much success with it.
