Personal Description:

I am currently a teacher candidate at York University, for the primary/junior division striving to become a member of the Ontario College of Teachers. The most significant goal of mine is to become the light and difference in a child's life, academically and emotionally, by bringing out the best version of themselves. As a strong believer in diversity, my aim is to provide students with the learning strategies specific to their abilities and needs. Through this, I am hopeful that I will be able to aid in the confident building of the student and academic achievement.

Tutoring Experience:

As a teacher candidate, I am currently situated in a split grade 1/2 class for placement. Throughout this placement I have developed, delivered, and assessed lessons and assignments. Ongoing, I am also at a community placement that involves mentorship and tutoring with grades 6-9. I have also done private tutoring from 2013-present, ranging from ages 4-14, and grades K-9. In all of the experiences mentioned above, I have tutored in all subject areas such as English/language, mathematics, science, reading, writing, and social studies.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a strong believer in diverse learning abilities; therefore, I offer a variety of teaching strategies that ensure student success and achievement. As all students learn in different manners, it is fundamental as an educator to present diverse learning strategies that meet the needs of ALL students. Through this, students will gain a positive learning experience that allows them to grow academically, mentally, and emotionally.
