Personal Description:

Hello and thank you for reading my profile! I am currently a Research Technologist in the Aquatics Contaminants Research Division of Environment and Climate Change Canada. I have a passion for science (especially chemistry) and would love to help you succeed in your courses and achieve your goals. I graduated high school as an Ontario Scholar with an average of 87% in all academic courses IN FRENCH! I went on to achieve an Advanced Diploma in Environmental Chemical Engineering at Mohawk College (final average of 80%) and proceeded to complete an Honours Bachelor of Science majoring in Biomedical Toxicology, with distinction, at the University of Guelph. I am respectful, kind and understanding. I am also persistent and patient!

Tutoring Experience:

My current role involves teaching university students new experiments and methods in our environmental chemistry laboratory. I absolutely love breaking down the science and explaining the steps in detail. Although I don't have any current tutoring experience (except for French literacy in high school) my abilities to teach in my lab are excellent.

Tutoring Approach:

I would bring the same techniques that I use to teach students in my lab to your tutoring experience by making sure you not only understand how to solve a problem, but also the big picture behind the question. This is where the love and passion for science is developed! Once we can comprehend why we solve a problem in a particular manner, we can apply the same thinking to new questions.
Science can be a tricky subject but I hope to make things more simple by encouraging understanding and a big picture view point.
Ideally assignments and learning plans could be sent prematurely so I can have a better understanding of what the individual's needs are.
