Personal Description:

Having recently graduated from my undergraduate degree in Biology, I decided to further my passion for teaching. I am currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program and am excited to help students learn, both as a teacher in the classroom and through tutoring students!

Tutoring Experience:

Visions of Science: I participated in advancing the educational achievements and career aspirations of youth (ages 8-13) from low-income and marginalized communities through meaningful engagement in STEM activities. I coordinated and implemented weekly activities for a group of up to 20 children. I also prepared introductory activities, taught STEM activities and described the scientific background of various topics. I positively encouraged participation and developed a safe learning environment for club members and elevated youth career aspirations and exposure to STEM fields.

Teaching Placement: Created various unit plans and individual lesson plans for various subjects. Ensured lessons maintained logical and timely flow and were suited for diverse learning styles and addressed the interests of all students. I delivered the curriculum through engaging and meaningful activities to develop students' understanding of various concepts. In addition, I worked to develop students’ confidence in across various subjects and frequently supported students throughout their unique learning journey.

Tutoring Approach:

I am passionate about helping students work towards their educational goals, overcome challenges, and feel confident in their learning
