Personal Description:
I am an avid technology enthusiast, specifically intrigued by all the manners in which space technology can affect us and help better our lives on earth. I got my undergraduate degree from Sharif University of Technology, focusing on orbital and attitude dynamics with a thesis on 3-body dynamics of orbits around asteroids. Now I am focusing my attention on space robotics, mechatronics and control at ASRoM-Lab at Carleton University, working on trajectory planning for space manipulators in the process of robotic mitigation of space debris. My research involves inspection of the non-holonomic behaviors due to an initial momentum when the chaser satellite has a motion synchronized with that of the debris.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught math, physics and engineering courses numerous times. I have taught physics at the high-school and middle school level. I have been a teaching assistant for the following courses in university: Orbital Mechanics, C programming, classical and feedback control, introduction to engineering, professional practice, computer-aided design and I have been the lead TA for a feedback control course. I have tutored privately for high-school and middle school math, science and English as a second language courses, for college-level calculus, engineering math, robotics and feedback control systems.
Tutoring Approach:
I have always empathized with my students and have been good at understanding what excites them about a subject, what background knowledge they require to understand a subject and what traps they might fall into that causes them to misunderstand a subject. By putting myself in their shoes I always try to accompany them to understand a subject instead of feeding it to them
