Personal Description:

My name is Beth **Removed By Admin**. At university I studied physical-education and science. After this, I went to teachers college in Australia.

I like travelling so I found work in England helping teachers learn how to teach. I had this job for 4 years.

Then I moved back to Canada and opened a clothing store in downtown Guelph. After 5 years I sold my store and went travelling for 2 years.

While travelling I completed my CELTA ESL certification and volunteered teaching English to refugees in Greece.

I have just returned to Guelph and would love to continue teaching ESL.

Tutoring Approach:

I follow the CELTA teaching methodology. Although this is a crtification for teaching ESL the methodologies also apply to other subjects. This is learner-centred teaching. My students do most of the talking in the lesson and I build my lessons around my students. I assess my students and find out what they want and need to learn. I design lessons that allow my students to practice what they learn in real-life situations. I make sure my lessons are fun and interesting to my students. For example, if you like football and you need to learn verbs I will design a lesson around football to teach you verbs.
