Personal Description:
Hello! My name is Avery, and I am a current University student. My program is the HBASc Interdisciplinary Studies with Concentration in Human Nature, and I am majoring in Criminology and Psychology. I graduated with honors from my high school, and so far, I am on the Dean's list at my University. Outside of my education, I am a competitive horseback rider and have been for about seven years. I also love to read, which includes pretty much anything but my favorites are classic and modern fiction novels.
Tutoring Experience:
I have experience with tutoring throughout my high school years. I have taught people between ages 4-18 and individuals who are multilingual. From this, I have learned that my strongest subjects to teach are English and Biology as I have had the most success with them, and I've found a way to tutor that I believe is the most effective.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to take a very personalized approach to tutoring, as I understand that every student will have completely different needs. Often in the first session I will ask if they know what way of learning works best for them, and from there, I will create a plan that best suits their learning style. If they aren't sure, we will try different things until we find an appropriate style and continue from there.
