Personal Description:
Hello there, My name is Ansh and I am originally from India. Currently, I have completed a diploma in Automation and robotics technician level at Centennial College, but am continuing to pursue advanced diploma in the same field.
I am a learner and will always will be. I always try to learn new skills everyday. So far I have learned how to use Abacus(ancient tool which helps to calculate while imagining numbers), learned some vedic mathematical tricks, as well as understood how to solve Rubik's cube(2*2, 3*3, 4*4) along with other puzzle cubes(mirror cube, megaminx cube, paraminx cube).
PS: We can learn these skills during our break time.
Tutoring Experience:
Since the starting of college, I have been really good at engineering level mathematics(Algebra, fractions, Calculus level I and II, permutations and combinations) and have been teaching it for over a year along with basic business math(Simple Interest, compound Interest and annuities). I have been officially teaching math for over a year at Centennial College in Canada.
I have not always been great at mathematics, in fact I used to have it more than any other subject. But when I was in high school, I experience a paradigm shift and started to love math. The reason for my sudden interest in math was my mathematics prof; he helped me with the basics of mathematics, and everything changed for me ever since.
As I used to be the one struggling with mathematics, I can understand the point of view of a student and help him/her solve the problem. While teaching I love the moment when the student says, "Ohh!, Thats it? Its so easy, I don't know why I was struggling with it". Whenever I hear student saying the later line, I can see another me in him. Which makes every minute which I invest in them worth it.
Tutoring Approach:
While teaching I use various techniques like 50/50 rule or ask open ended question or ask the student to explain what was taught to him/her, but above all I believe in behaving like a friend to them. Students often find their teacher so intimidating that they become afraid to ask questions, but never have I seen them being afraid of asking any kind of question to their friends.
