I am a dedicated, experienced teacher who always wants her students to succeed--whatever that means for them! My background is in ESL, IELTS/TOEFL, academic and business writing, and presentation skills. I think of myself as a creative, fun teacher who creates a positive learning environment for her students--my ultimate goal is to empower you to speak, write, and present the way I know you can.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching for 10 years, both in private language schools and public universities/colleges. My specialization is in academic preparation, particularly writing skills (essays, research papers) and presentation skills--I was a coach for the 3-Minute Thesis International Speaking Competition. In more recent years, I have turned my focus to one-on-one instruction and tutoring, providing my students with specialized, focused classes that push them to the next level of whatever they're working on.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is student-centered, meaning that I create a plan around your specific goals and needs. I love to work with both native and non-native English speakers, and incorporate grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary development if English is not your first language. My classes flexible to your needs, but I always provide structure in the form of documents and exercises to help the information sink in--and stay in! Across my 10 year career, students have told me that I am a patient teacher, and that my classes are dynamic.
