Personal Description:

I am a grade 12 student currently, on my road to graduation. I have a deep passion for English as I believe it is an amazing outlet for creativity and a variety of opinions. My future endeavours post-graduation is to pursue my dream of being a surgeon, specializing in paediatrics or geriatrics. I find comfort in taking care of others and aiding in any way I can, hence the medical field is enticing to me. I have an extensive portfolio of academic achievements (apart of the honour roll, 4.0 GPA) as well as extracurricular activities including sports, school clubs, and community volunteering experience.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught at summer camps as well as daycares, assisting children between the age of 3-9 with basic concepts involving reading, incorporating activities both academic and physical to teach in the most effective ways. Throughout my high school career as well, I have always aided fellow students with English, from quick edits to taking the time to teach the writing process in a digestible way.

Tutoring Approach:

I find that as a student myself, the most effective ways to teach are through examples, whether done by other students, my own papers, or with text to life connections. Paving the path of understanding through familiar concepts allows the students to critically think of their writing, pulling examples from the media, philosophies, and social interactions. I enjoy teaching with an abundance of visuals and frequent checks of comprehension, usually through practice questions.
