Personal Description:

My name is Andrea and I am a specialized educator working with children with special needs. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Child studies, with a specialization in educating children with exeptionalities, as well as a minor in English and Creative Writing. I have a passion for working with children, reading, writing and helping others.

Tutoring Experience:

I have tutored children in English since I was in Elementary school, through peer tutoring programs. I mainly have tutored students in English but am comfortable working on study skills and essay writing as well.

I have been tutoring children a number of children through First Tutors for 4 years.

I currently work in daycares, creating and implementing integration plans for children with special needs.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to help students learn at their own rate, and to recognize and applaud each achievement, to keep motivation high. I believe in practice makes perfect, and making exercises fun and interesting to the student, while keeping exercises diverse.
