Personal Description:

My name is Ali . I'm 27 years old. I have a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from McMaster University. I also work at ArcelorMittal Dofasco as a Research Technologist in Global Research and Development since 2015.

I've acquired valuable experience from many different sectors including colleges, universities and a few engineering/manufacturing companies.

What I'm offering is not only tutoring services, but I can also be an advisor/consultant to students still trying to figure out their career path.

I'm fluent in English and Arabic.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been tutoring privately since January 2016. I've tutored mathematics for 10 High school students (grades 12, 11, 10 and 9) and 2 college students. All my students had different levels of understanding the subject, but I can confidently say that they all improved quite well with my help.

I've volunteered for a year (Sept 2015 - Aug 2016) at Pathways to Education as a tutor/mentor to high school students. We offered tutoring services to students with a wide variety of levels. I was also a tutor amongst my classmates. I believe my valuable skills come from experience that I gained from being employed at various engineering/manufacturing corporations.

Tutoring Approach:

Learning is an acquired skill. Retrieval, elaboration and mixing up your practice are some of the most effective learning techniques. I believe that if you can't explain a topic simply then you don't quite understand it.
