Personal Description:

My name is Alexandra and I currently reside in Toronto, ON, CANADA. I am completing my Bachelors Degree in Politics and Governance at Ryerson University. I've always been keen on helping others excel in their work. I am easily adaptable to a persons needs and through that help them achieve greatness.

Tutoring Experience:

I've tutored several students since I was in the 6th grade, so going back about 7-8 years. I started with assisting a boy who had hearing disabilities, and learning disabilities do his homework, understand class concepts and complete assignments. Over the years I continued to help him throughout his elementary and high school career. I additionally became a Peer Tutor for the Special Education class at my high school, helping students understand class concepts and complete homework.
I currently am a music teacher, teaching guitar, piano, ukulele and singing. This has allowed me to meet a variety of individuals ranging from 4-82 years old and various learning abilities. I have worked with several kids with Auditory Processing Disorder, ADHD, ADD and down syndrome.

Tutoring Approach:

I take a needs based approach to tutoring. I evaluate how you or your child understands concepts, and how they learn. Some are visual, some are verbal and some are a mixed approached learners. I take this, and implement in when help you understand the concepts, homework or anything that applies to your needs. I adapt my teaching skills to everyone individually, and teach them at a speed they are comfortable with. I constantly will check back to see if the knowledge is being understood, and if not, I will approach the work another way, until I am ensured the student is able to tell me exactly what the knowledge is with confidence.
