Personal Description:

Hi! My name is Alex, and I am certified by both the Ontario College of Teachers and the Alberta Permanent Teachers Association. Currently, I am an elementary and secondary school teacher with seven years of professional experience in both the public and private sectors.

I am one of the exceptional few teachers whose students move from proficiency to excellence in any given subject in a matter of weeks. I have been deemed an “excellent educator” in all formal evaluations over the last seven years. I am a graduate of the University of Alberta (BEd) and the University of Sherbrooke (BA). I am passionate about academia; I love helping my students learn and achieve their academic goals.

Tutoring Experience:

I am an expert at online and distance education, my wealth of teaching experience includes providing instruction in every core subject required of students from Grade 3 to Grade 12. My most notable specialties are Academic Mathematics, Academic English Language Arts, Academic Science, Computer Programming, Psychology, and Robotics. Most recently, I prepared several gifted students to enter the 2018-2019 cycle of mathematics competitions. My approach is student-centered. Each student is treated as an individual. I take into consideration his/her distinct learning needs, learning styles, interests, aspirations, and cultural backgrounds. As a tutor, I work with students to ensure success by catering to their needs, addressing their weaknesses and working with them to solve their problems.
