Jacqui's feedback about Anna (Beginner Recorder tuition near Tavistock)
Great first lesson. Being online was no problem, it was, as if we were in the same room. Good ideas for practice and great musicality.
David's feedback about Timothy (Beginner Double Bass tuition near Tavistock)
Although we've not met face to face, Tim was able to explain what he had to offer and compare that to what I needed .He mainly teaches classical double bass and I was looking for a jazz bass teacher and he explained that without trying to coerce me into having lessons that may have been inappropriate. Once Lockdown eases I feel comfortable and confident enough with Tim's friendly and understanding manner to consider starting with him to broaden my knowledge and develop my techniques over a wider range. He seems ideal as a teacher with a sympathetic and pragmatic manner and without having been face to face with him I still feel as though he would be a fine teacher whatever your age.
Stephen's feedback about Eleanor (Beginner Piano tuition near Tavistock)
Very friendly, very relaxed. As a beginner and not a kid by a very long way I was a little worried how it would go. Ellie was great, very professional and answered all of my questions, even the stupid ones. Thoroughly recommended
Lorraine's feedback about Timothy (Casual Cello tuition near Tavistock)
Very patient and hot on technique which is is exactly what I need.
Tim's feedback about Simon (Beginner Banjo (5 string) tuition near Tavistock)
Banjo teachers are difficult to find in my area so when paying the introductory fee I wondered how things would turn out. Any misgivings I had were soon dismissed after an initial meeting with Simon and some subsequent lessons. Simon took the trouble to find out how and what I wanted to learn and has tailored his teaching accordingly. Given that I wanted to learn and understand banjos and banjo music and not just learn to play a few tunes, Simon has proved to be an excellent find as he seems to eat live and sleep the instruments! His style of teaching is relaxed friendly and patient. Although I had learnt a few basics some years ago, I have been encouraged to take a few steps backwards to undo bad habits. Simon is also teaching me a great deal about how banjo music is ‘put together’ plus as much theory as I want to learn without putting me into boredom mode. I can thoroughly recommend him as a teacher and am grateful for his tuition.
