We are so happy that we found Sanly on First Tutors to teach our daughter, who was 5 years old and a new starter to piano playing. Before the lesson with Sanly started, we were not sure whether our daughter would love piano or not, but now she absolutely likes it and wants to stay on the piano for over 30 minutes everyday. Sanly is very friendly and patient, and explains things in a way that is easy for kids to follow. She is very good at helping kids to build up good habits and make progress on piano techniques, as well as encouraging kids to try new challenges. Sanly is also quite organised and controls the pace of lessons very well. We highly recommend Sanly to people who are looking for piano teachers.

Shanly is an excellent piano teacher, who is reliable, knowledgable, and pleasant but also strict. Both my son and I have weekly piano lessons with her. Richard was quick to respond to our request, and has been terrific with our son, age eight, helping him not only learn some of the rudiments of piano playing, but also (at our request) helping him with his choral singing. Richard knows and loves everything about music, and his upstairs teaching and practice rooms is filled not only with two pianos and an organ, but also sheet music for composers as diverse as the Beatles and Bach! He’s funny, patient and kind, and is making a pretty formidable task — learning sight reading, technique, fingering, musical notation, etc. — fun and welcoming. We recommend Richard heartily.

My teenage son had piano lessons with Leon for 2 years. He really enjoyed the lessons and learned a lot. He particularly liked the structured approach Leon taught him to tackle new pieces and the mix of technical exercises, understanding of music theory and working on a new piece in each lesson. My son wasn't working towards a particular grade, so he was able to suggest pieces he wanted to play, which really helped to keep him motivated.
