Personal Description:

I am a Soprano,Singing and Piano Teacher . I received my Bachelor’s Diploma of Singing with Distinction and 1st Prize In 2006 at the renowned Athens Conservatory in Greece.
Later on, I continued my Vocal Studies in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London where I completed my Postgraduate Vocal Studies and successfully acquired my Masters in Singing Performance.
The 15 years of Classical Piano studies in Greece, which preceded those of Singing, have had an immense positive influence in the following years on my teaching as well as performing musical career. My studies in Advanced Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, Music History and Music Analysis gave me a vast music knowledge that I have been passing on to all of my pupils of Voice and Piano.
In 2012 I acquired the ABRSM Music Teaching Certificate after completing the CT plus ABRSM Course from which I gained significant knowledge. The CT plus ABRSM course gave me the opportunity to explore, learn and develop different learning and teaching approaches which since then I have been able to apply successfully on my teaching.

Tutoring Experience:

For the past 20 years I have taught in London in various Music Schools as well as leading an active private studio. I have been offering singing , piano and music theory individual lessons to students of all ages, and abilities and I am also experienced in preparing students for Graded exams and for Music Concerts and Singing Auditions.
Currently I teach at The Conservatoire in Blackheath and the Kingston Music School, while t the same time I enjoy a wonderful private studio. Apart from teaching I perform as a Soprano in Recitals in the UK and Greece, my native Country.
As a musician and a music teacher I believe that Music is one of the most wonderful forms of communication that can affect the way one feels, thinks or acts. It brings together intellect and feeling and enables personal expression, reflection and emotional development. Music learning develops students’ ability to listen, communicate and appreciate a wide variety of music genres. Finally, learning an instrument develops creativity, sensitivity and self-discipline.

Tutoring Approach:

As a music teacher I always believed that keeping lessons fun, inspiring and flexible as it's the key factor for effective learning.
My intention is to teach the technical aspects of the instruments using specific music pieces that are beautiful and fun music pieces that fit in with my students' preferences. I also include activities that are mostly popular among the young learners.

The bonding developing between the teacher and the student is significant in learning, as it makes students, feel comfortable and open during a lesson regardless of level, age and ability. In my experience it also builds the student's confidence, motivation and love for their instrument. As a human being and a teacher I naturally empathise with each student, respecting their needs, help them face possible challenges in learning and practising, that many tent to face

Furthermore, I always offer both the students and their parents specific tips and suggestions for fun, joyful and effective practice at home both in piano and singing, that help on maintaining excitement when playing their instrument.
As a principle keep contact with the parents and/or the students regarding planning of an exam, concert or school competitions/auditions. I care a lot about my students progress and always dedicate all my energy, passion and knowledge to ensure they learn and perform with success.
I have prepared and taught many students over the years ,All of whom have successfully performed in piano/singing concerts, schools auditions and competitions, musical productions or choirs and graded exams.
Teaching has been for me such a fulfilling path making me feel very proud and happy watching and supporting my students' musical growth and goals becoming reality.

Beyond the invaluable goal-setting aspect, these concerts also serve as a perfect platform for students to refine their performance skills. The supportive and encouraging environment created during these events allows students to overcome stage fright and build confidence.

I am deeply honoured to have received heartwarming feedback from parents who have witnessed profound changes in their children. Through the impactful experience of participating in one of my concerts, I have had the joy of seeing young musicians blossom into confident individuals. It is truly remarkable to receive messages from parents sharing how their child's participation in the concert has not only shaped their musical journey but has also positively influenced their overall personal growth. The feeling of knowing that my guidance and the platform I provide have empowered people to develop newfound self-assurance and a sense of achievement is immensely gratifying.
