Personal Description:

Hello I'm Sophie! I am a graduate with a first class film music degree from Leeds Conservatoire. I have completed grade 8 in both piano and flute and am studying for my diploma in piano. I am based in Leeds, Burley. I offer tuition from my own home as well as online if that is necessary.

Tutoring Experience:

I have had five years of teaching experience with students from ages 5 to adult, and have taken students through exams up to grade 4 piano ABRSM. I have also had three years of online teaching experience and adjusted my lessons to adhere to Skype or Zoom. I tend to offer 30 minute lessons for £15 and for my higher level students I do 45 minute lessons for £22.50.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to get feedback from my students so I regularly ask them during lessons how they would like me to explain things or how they feel their progress is going. This gives me my approach on teaching as I can cater to the needs of each student, in addition to making them feel heard. I also enjoy giving my students independence in their own study, in hopes that they learn true hard work and diligence through practicing an instrument.
