Personal Description:

I am a saxophone student at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire who also studies flute, clarinet and piano. I can offer online lessons!
I have experience in both jazz and classical styles, having played alto and tenor saxophone in many ensembles including Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra, Wiltshire Youth Jazz Orchestra, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Saxophone Octet and Eastside Saxophone Quartet. I am a scholarship student at RBC and as a soloist I have performed in festivals and competitions around Birmingham and Wiltshire.
I am a member of Northern Musical Theatre Orchestra, and have regular lessons on woodwind tripling in a musical theatre setting. I have achieved ABRSM Grade 5 on both instruments so can offer tuition at a beginner level.
I have achieved my Grade 8 ABRSM and have accompanied students for their grade exams.

Tutoring Experience:

-I have led music workshops in both school and music residential course settings
-I am a tutor at Melody Music Birmingham, a charity for young adults with learning difficulties
-I have experience of teaching both adults and children piano and the saxophone
-I am fully DBS checked

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a bespoke approach to teaching, where the teacher's methods should adapt to suit the pupil's goals and needs. Music should be accessible to everyone so I strive to be as inclusive as possible, catering for a range of ages and abilities, whether you are working towards an audition or simply want to pick up an instrument that you haven't played in years, for the pure enjoyment of it. Confidence is crucial to becoming a good musician, so building this in my students is always a priority. Creating ambitious goals and then taking small but sure steps to achieve them is also very important. Above all, playing music should be fun!
I can offer online as well as in person tuition.
