Personal Description:

I have studied the saxophone at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the Royal College of Music, two of the most renowned music institutions in the country. As a creative and engaging musician, I have received numerous performance awards including the Leverhulme Arts Scholarship and the Help Musicians Postgraduate Award. I also play the flute and the clarinet, having also studied these instruments at conservatoire level.
I am principally a classical musician and also teach jazz to a high level.
I have 13 years of performance experience and 5 years of teaching experience; I would be delighted to help you reach the next level in your saxophone, flute, or clarinet playing.
My career is varied, covering many musical styles, from jazz to classical, and involves both teaching and performing. What I enjoy the most is meeting people from all backgrounds, and sharing music with them.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe in a bespoke approach to teaching, where the teacher's methods should adapt to suit the pupil's goals and needs. Music should be accessible to everyone so I strive to be as inclusive as possible, catering for a range of ages and abilities, whether you are working towards an audition or simply want to pick up an instrument for the pure enjoyment of it. Confidence is crucial to becoming a good musician, so building this in my students is always a priority. Creating ambitious goals and then taking small but sure steps to achieve them is also very important. Above all, playing music should be fun!
I can offer online as well as in person tuition.
