Hey, I'm Kalvin, a seasoned musician and instrumental tutor with over 20 years of experience. Having performed at many gigs across the UK and Europe with professional bands, I've also shared my expertise with hundreds of students in both group and one-to-one settings. Tutoring Experience:
Since 2005, I've been dedicated to guiding students through every stage of your musical journey, from those initial steps with the instrument, to learning songs by your favourite artists and even conquering graded music exams like Rockschool and RGT. The key to all this? Establishing strong fundamentals. If you're excited to begin playing the songs you love, let's work together to make it happen!
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is very simple. We will discuss your personal goals and then set realistic, achievable, easy steps to realise them. My lessons will help you to play effectively, keep you motivated and most importantly to have fun!
We'll start by building your chord knowledge with the most common chords found in songs and pair these with easy strumming patterns and rhythmic exercises to enhance your skills. Additionally, I'll introduce interactive learning tools and creative exercises to make the learning process dynamic and engaging.
In a short time, you could progress from never playing a song to strumming along to modern classics or your favorite artists. Along the way, we'll track your progress through regular assessments and milestone checks, ensuring you see tangible improvement over time.
Lessons come with PDF documentation tailored to your needs, allowing you to review notes from previous sessions on any device to aid your practice. You'll also learn to read music notation alongside TAB, essential for guitar and bass.
My goal is to help you become the player you aspire to be and kickstart a lifetime of learning and enjoyment!
