This is how 2 referees rated Ella:
I am a classically trained flautist offering lessons on both flute and piano. Originally from Oxford, I studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, The Netherlands. I hold a First Class Honours Bachelor degree in flute performance as well as a Distinction in my Postgraduate certificate. Having recently returned to the U.K. I am now based in Oxford and happy to offer online lessons to students.
I am confident in teaching a range of abilities having taught flute to private students of different levels, from beginners to advanced in addition to beginner piano students. I experienced leading music workshops for groups of different ages and abilities during my time at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and previously as an assistant to the Creation Theatre Drama Club. I also enjoyed directing and conducting a flute choir which I founded at The Cherwell School in Oxford.
Learning a musical instrument should, first and foremost, be fun! I tailor my teaching to suit the student, ensuring there is the right balance of work on fundamental technique and musicianship. I am a passionate believer in the manifold and various benefits of learning an instrument, not only in developing creative and technical abilities but also in building self confidence, problem solving skills and self discipline.
An essential component to successful musical progression is inspiration in any form you find it and I therefore actively aim to share my love of music with students in any way I can.
