Personal Description:
Claire is a supportive piano teacher with 15 years’ teaching experience and holds a BA (Hons) degree in Music and Masters degree in Piano Performance from Bath Spa University.
Based near Frenchay, she enjoys working with children and adults at various stages of their piano playing - from those beginning to learn piano; adults returning to piano playing after a hiatus, and students studying piano at music schools and as part of their degree programme. Claire also prepares students for practical graded exams, if they wish to study for them.
Tutoring Experience:
From 2010-2015, Claire taught piano at Bristol Music School and also in Bath. From 2015 onwards, she has tutored privately in Stapleton during the weekdays and evenings.
Tutoring Approach:
Tuition is enjoyable and engaging, allowing students to progress quickly. Students acquire an understanding of musical elements as well as a healthy piano technique and excellent listening skills, ensuring that they build a stable foundation so that they can play beautifully, with freedom and expression.

I am an adult learner, who started playing the piano over 40 years ago. I am thoroughly enjoying lessons with Claire. She is an excellent communicator and knows her craft. She has reignited my enjoyment of playing the piano, embedding a strong foundation of best practice. The lessons are well structured and Claire gives positive, constructive feedback and encouragement.
When I was younger, I now realise I didn't always practise as I should. Claire has motivated me to practise at home and apply the learning from lessons. There is so much to learn and Claire is able to suit the content to my learning style and provides suitable challenges to embed the learning and take my skills and knowledge further. I highly recommend Claire as a piano teacher.
