Personal Description:

I am a passionate piano teacher with extensive knowledge in healthy piano technique. I have studied for over 5 years with Professor of piano at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Penelope Roskell, author of “The Complete Pianist”- who is a specialist in healthy piano technique. I am also on Penelope Roskell’s recommended teachers list. I have an in-depth knowledge of the Alexander Technique which I studied with Judith Kleinman. I incorporate these important principles into my teaching. I’ve also extensively studied a branch of the Alexander Technique called Body Mapping where we consider and analyse the structure and anatomy of our bodies and how we use that information to facilitate our playing, thus making it more efficient and freer. I have studied with Licensed Body Mapping Educator, Bridget Jankowski .
I have recovered from a playing related injury using the above knowledge and techniques. Consequently, I am highly knowledgeable and able to help or advise people on healthy technique and any potential injuries they may have or help prevent injuries from occurring. I have an LTCL piano performance diploma with distinction.

I have taught all ages and levels from beginners up to advanced (diploma level).

Tutoring Approach:

I teach mainly online and find this to be a very successful way of learning the piano from beginners to diploma level. I teach in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and work alongside the students requirements. I offer an initial free 30 minute consultation lesson online.
