Personal Description:

Born in France, Anne is a keen versatile flautist player. She enjoys playing on both modern and historical flutes.

As long as she can remember, Anne has always been looking for a genuine approach to learn and express her feelings. Expression is especially one of her workhorse.

When she discovered the wealth of historically informed projects with the copy of a baroque flute, Anne has been fascinated and specialised alongside orchestras with baroque, classical and romantic historical flutes.

The desire to reach her vocation led Anne to perform under the direction of Philippe Herreweghe, Christophe Coin, Jordi Savall, John Butt, and others at Wigmore Hall, Philharmonie de Paris, Théâtre du Châtelet, Victoria Hall.

Anne has MA degrees in modern and historical flutes from Royal Conservatoire of Brussels (distinction) and Haute École de musique of Geneva (highest honor). During her master degree she also studied at the Royal Academy of Music of London (Erasmus exchange) and Royal Conservatoire of Liege.

Beside her musical life, Anne experienced mental health issues. She spent the last 5 years discovering new landscapes which helped her to heal and understand more about expression. She followed a course in Lyon to learn LSF (French Sign Language). She also studied pastry in Grenoble where she got her CAP (pastry certificate).

Nowadays, Anne still works hard to express her feelings and find it very meaningful to teach the flute with creativity and to also perform her instruments for people in distress or special needs (ie. hospitals, nursing homes,…)

Tutoring Experience:

Anne has been teaching for 10 years in France (music schools and private lessons).

Tutoring Approach:

Anne teaches the music in her studio, King’s Lynn (Norfolk). The class is open to the flute, historical performance practice (including the baroque flute), chamber music, music theory and introduction to music. The music lessons are open to all levels and ages. Anne is more than happy to make sure all people with a desire to express themselves with the music can benefit from her class. She has a special interest for people with special needs and a very strong attraction to intuitive learning.

Technique, sensitivity, and self improvement depends of each students. With some students she tends to be more explicit when facing a difficulty and might explains with talks and / or through exercices. With others she plays along with the flute or the piano and guide them toward their intuition.

Anne is flexible and will tailored the lessons with you, depending of your requests, goals and needs. Beside the classique & baroque musique repertoire, she will also be happy to teach you different other kind of music (pop, jazz,…).

In addition to the traditional individual lesson, Anne encourages her students to play with others and organises classes for them to meet and play.

Frequently Anne organises informal projects for her students in her studio / public events (churches, nursing homes). You will be welcome to come, perform, listen and /or meet other flautists (/musicians…). In any case Anne makes sure you always feel confortable and reach your goal(s) with the music.
