Personal Description:

Hi! Thanks for checking out my profile! My name is Zack, and I have been playing guitar for most of my life now (scary… ), and this has offered me so many incredible experiences over the years, from being hired to play on albums, writing music and gigging with original bands, and opening a gig for Chase and Status and Labyrnth (which was as epic as it sounds… ).

Guitar is my number one passion, both playing, writing, and teaching!

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching professionally for over five years now, starting out with a very well established music school in Northern Ireland (where I'm from; don't worry, you won't need a translator… ), where I developed and refined my own unique teaching style, working with a large number of students of all ages. Since moving to England, I began teaching through another local teaching school. Over the last few months, I have moved to teaching almost entirely privately, and mostly online. I have found that the online platforms like Skype and Zoom offer so much versatility for both myself as a teacher and for my students.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to music tuition is firstly, to make sure it is FUN. I aim to get to know my students' musical preferences and tastes, and teach them fundamental techniques, and music theory (dun dun dunnnn), through songs and styles that they actually want to listen to! I have a wealth of experience teaching a vast range of styles, as well as several accredited exam board syllabi, including Rockschool (RSL), Trinity Rock & Pop, and RGT.

The students are the guiding factor in how I structure my lessons, and I provide bespoke lesson plans for every lesson, sent direct to the student as a PDF (these take ages to make, but honestly, they are really good!)

I always make sure my students finish their lessons a better, more confident, and more knowledgeable guitarist.
