Personal Description:

I am a Primary School Teacher and a dedicated musician having played the flute for 27 years. During that time I have been in various orchestras, wind bands, flute choirs and ensembles studying a vast and broad variety of music for differing performance opportunities. I have performed in public recitals as part of my University degree and have also performed around Europe with the Bromley Youth Concert Band. From the beginning of last year I am a valuable member of the Rarescale Flute Academy, set up by Carla Rees. We are a flute group specialising in big flutes, Altos and Bass’ and we travel around the country playing in various self organised concerts. In 2008 we played at the Manchester Flute Convention.
Currently I am Brownie Guide Leader and am Treasurer for Scouts. I have completed my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and enjoy raising money for charity by running marathons!

Tutoring Experience:

I am a new tutor of music but have experience with teaching as I have been a Learning Support Assistant for and am now Primary School Teacher. I have worked with children from Nursery to Sixth Form, teaching anything from arts, crafts and new songs to organising a flute choir to perform at a school concert. As well as this I have been on several different work experience placements as a flute teacher and understand the importance of making learning fun. I am currently training for my Teaching Diploma with the Rarescale Flute Academy Training Scheme.

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring method is fun and exciting giving the student the support and motivation to achieve what ever they want from the flute. I like giving pupils goals to work towards so that they can be proud of there own progress.
