Personal Description:

I am a freelance pianist based in Sheffield specialising in accompaniment and contemporary music. I hold two degrees from the University of Sheffield, and regularly accompany singers and instrumentalists, most recently performing at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, London's Pleasance Theatre and Leeds Playhouse, in addition to more regular programming at various venues around Sheffield. I also have experience working with certain special educational needs. I take a holistic and mindful approach to teaching and am friendly and encouraging, seeking to motivate you to help discover your full musical potential. Please get in touch!

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching since 2013, with students developing into able, knowledgeable and self-motivated pianists and music theorists. I have also ran music workshops for theatres and led seminars at Sheffield University, so am comfortable with a range of tuition. Additionally, my students have a 100% pass rate.

Tutoring Approach:

I specialise in piano and music theory tuition, and can additionally tutor music theory and accompaniment. I combine disciplines within lessons; for example, if you wished to learn piano and theory to complement each other (I recommend this approach to learning piano). I am flexible on teaching style - if a pupil wished to learn for their own enjoyment rather than to pursue grades, I am happy to teach in this manner, just as I am with pupils looking to complete ABRSM grades. Additionally, I tutor beginner-intermediate jazz theory, Bach chorale harmony (for A Level) and aspects of A Level Music - please contact me to discuss your specific needs!
