Personal Description:

I offer private classical piano lessons on a one-to-one basis, to a range of levels and ages at my home in the West End of Glasgow. I am an experienced teacher with a proven track record of preparing pupils for ABRSM Grades, with over 90% my students passing their examinations with merits and distinctions.

Twice a year I hold an informal concert with all my students, which offers the chance to prepare for and experience performance in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

I graduated with BA Hons in Music from Bristol University in 2006 after gaining a diploma in music education from the RSAMD in 2004, teaching all ages of secondary school music.

Not only do I teach piano, but I have been involved in the music industry since Graduating University. I have played the flute and piano in many orchestras and bands, as well as singing with the Royal Choral Society in London, regularly at the Albert Hall, proms in the park and the O2 Arena, including a concert with James Galway and Andrea Bocceli. I have also worked for music agencies since graduating, helping to organise concerts for professional musicians who work at an international leveel at the most prestigious venues around the world.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught piano for several years to a range of levels and ages and have a diploma in music education from the RSAMD where I teaching all ages of secondary school music. I have a proven track record of preparing pupils for ABRSM Grades, with over 90% my students passing their examinations with merits and distinctions.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach a classical style and am flexible to the pupils strengths and preferences. I don't have one approach for every pupil. I guide some pupils through the grades with structured lessons of pieces, aural, sight reading, finger exercises and theory. However I also have a lot of students who are learning just for fun and who bring pieces they like and we work them together and sometime and combination of the above.
