Personal Description:

I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2016, and achieved a Distinction at ARSM level in piano performance in 2022.

I have been teaching piano full-time since 2018, and I have experience in making lessons fun for all students, from the very youngest beginners to those picking up the instrument in retirement.

I have a particular interest in making piano accessible for SEN/neurodiverse students, and I am currently working on a new resource for beginners bearing this in mind. 'The Piano Forest' is a book aiming to capture the imagination of young children and use colour in creative ways to aid learning.

Lessons are available in classical, jazz, or popular styles, and you can take exams with ABRSM or Trinity, although there is no pressure to do so.

Tutoring Experience:

I've been teaching piano ever since 2009, and it's something I've always loved. I've had the joy of helping enthusiastic students learn to play popular songs from scratch, as well as encouraging those who want more of a goal towards their graded exams. It's a privilege to pass on my hard earned knowledge to students and give them the opportunity to experience the joys of playing the piano too!

Tutoring Approach:

I always put the student's needs first, whilst also providing challenge where appropriate. I always try and encourage students to work things out for themselves rather than just telling them the answers! However, I'm good at explaining tricky concepts where the need arises. All my students love my lessons because they are fun and friendly!
