Personal Description:

I am a professionally trained Musical Theatre performer and singer with over 20 years' performance experience. I trained at Suffolk New College (BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts), PPA Guildford (Foundation Course in Musical Theatre) and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (Cardiff), graduating in 2014 with an MA in Musical Theatre. My vast performance experience includes plays, pantomimes, musicals, concerts and revues

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching privately since April 2019. I have also run adult and junior singing workshops for local community organisations. I am currently a leader with Stowmarket Operatic & Dramatic Society Youth Group where I teach singing to individuals and groups.

Tutoring Approach:

At RWCMD I was trained in the Estill method of singing. This focuses on the physical processes of manipulating muscles to create different vocal qualities and I use these techniques in my lessons. Once pupils know which muscles and organs are used in making different sounds, this knowledge forms the building block for singing a wide range of styles. I aim to inspire confidence and enthusiasm in my pupils. My lessons are informal and relaxed and I have a number of weird and wacky exercises which generally lead to lots of giggles. I offer the first lesson at half the normal price.
