Personal Description:

I have taught myself to play various instruments over a period of sixteen years. Gradually, layer by layer, I have progressed to a stage of intuitive playing and songcraft.

I like the flamenco players and the ancient bards, wandering and passing on their ways. I do not have any fancy qualifications in music or theory - I have only my intuition.

I write over a dozen songs each year, and ultimately I am a song-writer and composer more than anything. I have held together various bands, from satirical comedy groups to folk numbers to a ceilidh band!

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught many people many songs at many pianos.

Kindling a new flame, not filling an empty vessel.

The aim of my tutoring is to inspire people on their way. I can teach techniques and chord patterns and the like, but no one can teach the intuitive grasp of music, which you need to reach zen levels of playing and enjoyment! This can only be encouraged.
