Personal Description:

Hi I have been playing the piano all my life (over 50 years now!) and simply love teaching ANYBODY who may think or who has been told in the past that they can't play. The fact is, the person who told you that, couldn't teach! So I use a beautiful, holistic method of really getting to grips with the how and why of reading music and playing the piano. You will learn at your own pace and I gaurantee you will be reading music and playing with both hands in the very first lesson. I understand you may have some trepidation but please leave any fears behind and enjoy the process - it really is uplifting and fun.

Tutoring Experience:

I am a qualified teacher and worked as Head of Music Department at a local fee paying school for many years.
My degree is in Music from York and my PGCE from Uni of Wolverhampton.
I am an NLP practitioner and have been teaching from home for the last two years with great success!
I have taught adults who have always wanted to learn but for many reasons - feel too old, awful experience in past, tone deaf (no such thing1), afraid of feeling foolish… and so on - all with wonderful results!
Any self doubts dispelled instantly!

Tutoring Approach:

You will learn in short courses of 5 weeks at a time how to read music and play the piano with confidence and self assurance.
There is lots of active participation so you never just have to sit and listen to stuff that does not actually have any meaning!
I teach children after school and adults during the daytime and we as a team so that each step of the way is fully understood and achieved happily. You can come for a trial session to see how it all works and then book your courses to suit your own time commitments.
You may wish to only learn to play one piece for a specail occasion, play for pleasure, or to sit an ABRSM examination - its totally driven by your own expectations. Once you get the bug you won't want to stop!
