Personal Description:

Welcome! I am a young and friendly professional clarinettist and pianist offering one-to-one clarinet tuition in the Glasgow area. I did my formal music training at the Royal Nortern College of Music in Manchester and a masters degree in music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. I am a freelance performer and teacher, so I frequently play with various orchestras and ensembles around the UK, most recently playing as Guest Principal Clarinet with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Tutoring Experience:

I have experience teaching younger high school aged students and adults, whether they be a complete begginer or an already fluent player wishing to take their skills further.I have repeatedly tutored young clarinettists as the "Clarinet Ambassador" on the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland's wind training ensemble course, and conducted sectional rehearsals for Strathclyde University Wind Band.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that every individual has specific and individual needs. For this reason, I don't use just one specific method of teaching to suit all, rather, I communicate with each student and try to build methods that will enable the most progress at a consistent rate, taking into account lesson frequency, level/amount of repertoire and work load. However, my main goal is to teach students in a way that they will enjoy playing the instrument so as to enable them to become naturally motivated to achieve and challenge themselves.
