Personal Description:
Currently based in Scotland, Ross’s performing career has taken him to stages across the UK and North America, including the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (CA), Toronto Guitar Society, YellowBarn (USA), Kings Place (London), National Gallery of Scotland, BBC Radio Scotland, Beacon Arts Centre (UK), St Magnus International Festival, Usher Hall, St Giles Cathedral and Helly’s International Guitar Festival (UK). Ross has toured with Scottish National Opera (2023/24) and Glyndebourne Opera Company (2021).
As a chamber musician, Ross is a member of Quartet Malamatina, who have toured the UK and Canada, performed live for the BBC as well as commissioning and premiering two new works for the ensemble. Ross is also a member of the -Begg Duo, who are International Guitar Foundation Young Artists and Live Music Now Scotland Artists. They have given recitals across the UK and given outreach performances and workshops with Live Music Now.
As an educator, Ross is an associate instrumental teacher, ensemble leader and lecturer at the University of St Andrew’s and has delivered workshops at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland alongside Quartet Malamatina. He is also part of the NYOS Music Leaders Scheme.
Ross studied undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Allan Neave and previously at Chetham’s School of Music.

Tutoring Experience:
I teach all ages and abilities and have had student successes in ABRSM practical exams.
I hold an DipABRSM teaching diploma, LRSM performance Diploma, BMus Hons degree in Performance, Master of Arts degree and hold an Enhanced DBS Check Certificate (England), and PVG certificate (Scotland).
Tutoring Approach:
My approach is relaxed, with emphasis on learning the fundamentals of technique and musicality correctly from the first lesson.
Students can study with me online via zoom or skype as well as in person in Perth.
