Information About Rory - Bangor teacher

Personal Description:

I have been playing trombone specifically for several years now, and am playing at a professional standard. My playing experience has included symphonic orchestral playing, concert bands, big band playing, brass ensemble and solo performance/recital work. I also have experience playing euphonium/baritone and trumpet.

Tutoring Experience:

I am currently tutoring a student privately from a beginner stage. Beyond this I have been involved in group rehearsals and sectionals, including running a brass ensemble. These apply to the past few years.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach is rather simple. Music is about enjoying yourself, and expressing yourself in the medium of music. And so my first key point is to develop fundamental techniques that any brass instrumentalist should use. Beyond that its up to the student. They can simply develop their understanding and ability regarding the instrument, or they can work specifically for exams, from either ABRSM or Trinity Guildhall (whichever is preferred).
