Personal Description:

Hi! I'm a professional, experienced tutor of guitar, as well as bass, ukulele and mandolin.

I have over 17 years teaching experience and I've taught guitar in London full-time for the last nine years. In that time I've taught hundreds of students of all levels, ages, styles and backgrounds. I have over 18 years experience playing music in professional performances in different cities around the world, including Seoul, Berlin and London.

I have a great passion for all kinds of music. I'm experienced in playing many styles, from rock, pop and blues to folk and fingerstyle, to classical, Latin and Spanish guitar, as well as jazz and world music.

Tutoring Experience:

I began my career teaching English as a foreign language, and my wide experience in this field informs the approach I take to teaching an instrument. I was a full-time teacher in South Korea for three years and I taught English as well as the drums and guitar as a freelance tutor in Berlin for a year.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons are available in guitar, drums, mandolin, ukulele and bass guitar.

In our £10 trial lesson, you’ll get an idea of what to expect from my course. I’ll learn a bit about you, what level you’re at and what you want to get out of the lessons. And most importantly, we’ll get you playing the instrument straight away.

In my opinion, the most important part of learning an instrument is to enjoy playing and be creative. I will tailor my lessons to your individual needs and tastes, and keep the right level of challenge in order to keep you steadily progressing.

Students of all ages, levels and abilities are welcome, including absolute beginners. If you’re not a beginner but you want to brush up on your playing, we’ll see where you’re at from the trial lesson. Feel free to get in touch if you have particular needs or interests.

To see the best progress, I recommend you take at least one lesson a week.

Online and In-Person Lessons:

I have years of online teaching experience. I have taught literally hundreds of domestic and international students on various online platforms.

Learning guitar online with me is simple and convenient. There's nothing to prepare or download, all you have to do is decide on a time, and connect to the lesson by simply pasting a link into your browser. It works on desktop, laptop, tablet or even phone!

I take full advantage of the online teaching environment, using visual notes and fretboard close-ups to make the experience extra clear and easy to follow. At the end of the lesson you'll get a tailored write up of everything we covered, including all you need to practice in the week.

If you would prefer lessons in-person, I teach in South Ockendon and the surrounding areas, as well as Leytonstone on select days of the week. I can come to you or you can come to me.

If you do want lessons at your location, remember that you will need your own equipment (drum kit, guitar etc). Also, transportation costs including travel time and ticket fare must be taken into account.
