Information About Riccardo - Barking teacher

Personal Description:

Riccardo was born in Rome and his musical training began at the age of 14.
From 2003 to 2006 he studied drums with Ettore Mancini and Marco Volpe. In 2010 he graduated from Conservatorio Licino Refice in Frosinone, where he studied amongst others with Ettore Fioravanti, with a BA(Hons) in Jazz Music.
Since graduating, he moved to London where he has pursued a career as a drummer and teacher.
His musical experience includes playing with lots of Pop-Rock bands, small Jazz groups and orchestras, Funk function bands and Tribute bands. He has also worked in recording studios realizing albums with producers like Rob Ellis and many international session musicians.
His musical capabilities go beyond playing just the drums; he is equally as good arranging music for original bands or solo song-writers.
As a performer, Riccardo has played at international festivals in Italy and around England.
During the last 5 years he also taught in public and private schools.

Ten years experienced and high qualified drum teacher, continuously developing himself
professionally, his dedicated approach is to infuse passion and love for music, both in students
wishing to play professionally and those who want to do it for fun.

2000 – 2011 Private drum teacher, Rome and London.
Provided drums training to students of all levels and abilities, with a focus on drum improvisation. Tailored individual lessons and planned overall schemes of work, developing excellent self management and organizational skills. Successfully prepared students for conservatoires auditions.

tunes to be played. Developed the teaching curriculum.

Member of the examining board, developed and implemented the curriculum for the drum
lessons and the final exams. Taught one-on-one lessons to teen-agers students, managing and
average of thirty individual lessons per three working days.

Worked with a class of 12 students, showing the expressive possibilities of drumming, beyond
traditional playing, from rudiments to modern styles.

Tutoring Approach:

My private tuitions are custom built around the student, spacing around multiple styles (Rock, Pop, Funk, Blues, Jazz, Big Band): their range vary from lessons for beginners, intermediates and advanced to hand/foot technique, from drum music notation/sight reading to working closely with the student to reach the sound of their favourite drummer.
Lessons can be also held at the student's home or at My private studio.
