Personal Description:
Outside of teaching, I am a professional opera singer and have previously performed with the Glyndebourne Festival, BBC Proms, Philharmonia Voices, Saffron Opera, and Edinburgh International Festival. I have performed notable roles with Dundee Repertory Theatre including productions of Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution and Caryl Churchill’s Love and Information. I look forward to touring the premier of Sense & Sensibility the Musical this summer. I studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Edinburgh Napier University and Central Washington University. My studies were generously supported by The Cross Trust, The Split Infinitive and The Santander Universities Mobility Scholarships.
Tutoring Experience:
With over ten years of experience, I approach teaching holistically and aim to help my students develop a healthy technique and confidence in their instrument.
I have taught privately, in 1:1, group and choir settings and in a number of schools across Edinburgh and London. I regularly work with students of all ages in a variety of styles from classical and opera to musical theatre and folksong.
I have maintained a 100% pass rate on all of my student's vocal exams and have successfully prepared students for auditions who have gone on to study at college and undergraduate degree courses. I recently adjudicated for the Young Musician Rotary Competition Final in Dundee.
Whether you're preparing for an exam, looking to improve your vocal technique or just keen to learn how to sing for a hobby please get in touch!
I have a DipABRSM in Vocal Teaching, and am PVG Certified.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enhanced background check applied as of present day.

Tutoring Approach:
Typically in a lesson we will do a physical warm up with stretching; checking posture, identifying areas of body tension, breathing exercises, vocal exercises and gradually apply that to suitable repertoire. The first lesson will be a general assessment for me to understand what the voice needs and how I can tailor my teaching to suit the student. My main focus is to help my students build a firm foundation in their vocal technique, help nurture and develop their understanding of their instrument and how to use it in a healthy way while having fun along the way!

Would recommend to anyone thinking of
contacting
This is a very serious commitment for me and she has given me an excellent insight into what I need to do even after week two .
I would expect to go for a 5 score as time goes by as I feel sure she will tell me if I am not good enough for the challenge .I feel she would be honest with me
Rachael makes facing new challenges every week fun and interesting and we very highly recommend her as a singing tutor.
We have had several singing tutors but there is not comparison to Rachael high standars.
What a lovely young lady, I am so happy Daniella has met her.
All my best
