Personal Description:
Bilingual teacher, French and English.
Tutoring Experience:
I am an experienced piano teacher with over forty years of experience. I taught in France and in India, welcoming students from all over the world. Since 2011, I have been running a studio in the UK.
My practice includes yoga, music history and musicology, the art of piano performances, not forgetting piano building and tuning - a unique experience to learn more and in a different way about this magical instrument.
I offer one-to-one tuitions, masterclasses, or piano retreats which can include accommodations and homemade meals.
I am an author of an essay on the piano published in 2009. I also published a revised edition of the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach along with commentaries based on history, musicology, art of interpretation, not forgetting pedagogical advices.
Tutoring Approach:
A new way of learning the piano, friendly and focused on a thorough understanding of music as large. Students will learn playing piano on a C. Bechstein concert grand D 280 instrument.
My studio is situated in the heart of Hampshire’s countryside, in a grade-listed Victorian gate lodge away from distractions for an authentic musical experience.

Pierre ticks all the boxes and with him the journey to learning piano is a very pleasant one. Effectively, he is passionate as a Pianist but also as a Teacher, and you can witness how his vast experience sharpened his pedagogy by how fast he spots the actual problem under a difficulty and adapts, creates perspective and opens horizons from day 1. Finally, Pierre takes you with him in his passion. All this makes a huge difference if you want to evolve efficiently, and have fun
